Audit

He has always been actively involved in audits both at a personal and departmental level.

During his career, I have carried out many audit projects, examples of which are as follows:

• Obstructive sleep apnoea in children
• Post tonsillectomy bleeding (secondary hemorrhage). Can we do better?
• Snoring – management
• Out of hours on call commitments
• Outcome of palatal surgery for snoring – January 2005
• Inappropriate referrals by GPs – May 2005
• Post-operative complications – randomized trial (self-assessments)
• Postal survey – patient satisfaction following ENT consultations in outpatients
• Currently conducting an audit (PACS in sinus surgery) a postal survey to ENT surgeons in the UK – I am in the process of collecting data.
